Born 1996, Maxime Mballa-Tagny is an artist, designer, and thinker. Having lived in many countries including Africa, Europe, North America and currently Southeast Asia; he is a navigator of multicultural spaces.
His work is an exploratioin of old ideas taking new forms; concepts at the crossroads of history and modernity. A creative at heart, his oeuvre contains abstract paintings, and cutting edge design. He draws inspiration from African objects and their concepts as they apply today. This passion drives him to connect across cultures and their universal truths.
A graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design, he is a Young International Fellow of the Humboldt University of Berlin’s Cluster of Excellence. As a team member for ARC, he is also a Gold recipient of the International Design Award and European Product Design Award. His passion for objects was ignited at the Savannah African Art Museum where he worked intimately with centuries old artefacts.
